Monday Class

Mostly makeup work for Monday due to being sick. I chose to draw ridiculous characters from the hundreds of viral "Harlem Shake" videos and whatever I could sketch from life.

Ballet Met #3

More sketches from Ballet Met in Columbus on Thursday.

Advice: never drink a whole bottle of water before going into a 2 hour session.

*Edit* I may have overdone it with the very thick black lines in some areas. But looking back at this, I am very surprised at how many I managed to capture that day.

North Market #2

I wasn't present in the North Market last week and stayed on campus to draw students.

*Edit* I hate being sick.

Dance Assignment

I had fun with this assignment. My best resource was So You Think You Can Dance, one of my favorite shows I watched in high school (go ahead and laugh.) Most of the dances were contemporary, modern, and a mix of hip hop.

*edit* and yes I may have forgot some areas of facial features, hands, feet, etc. I'm going to get on that. I'm really trying to push my line work to use more broader strokes.

Misc Sketches from today. I couldn't find anything interesting to draw so I pretended I was in a dance studio:

Ballet Met Session #1

Wednesday was the first day our sketch class went to the Ballet Met in Columbus. I was actually pretty excited about this because of the challenge and I have a certain admiration for the practice and dedication these dancer put into their work.

I think I was pretty successful for only having just an hour to draw. I can't wait for the next one!
