I'll have better luck next time with the amount of sketches.

Polaris
This week most of our class managed to go to Polaris to draw people on their individual shopping missions. I felt like I didn't get much this session due to finding a good spot to sketch. Also, there didn't seem to be much individuality between people walking around (except for a few) unless the were in a store shopping. What I found more entertaining were the children. Lots of kids that were there had a variety of steps and expressions. For example, there was screen AD near the Apple store, where I set up base, and there were two children in coats bouncing around it and swinging their arms around. It was cute and hilarious and I believe I managed to capture one of them in these sketches.

Assignment #2 Vampire...SLAYER!!
Last weeks assignment we had to come up with a vampire character we had to design and pose. As a result of watching a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer I ended up doing a twist on it by making a Supernatural Vampire Slayer. I mean it's still close to a vampire... right?
I feel like I had success on 2/3 poses. Most of them I got just watching Buffy kick ass (and a lot of rewind freeze frames).
On a final note I need to learn how to scan my work better. I was never really taught how to make adjustments on scans so they just end up looking messy and unprofessional.

Assignment 1
Here are copies from master paintings on studying the dynamic figures in them. I will update this post soon with images of the paintings themselves soon. I had classes all day and couldn't get to a scanner in time to post them. So these are pretty crappy scans.
*EDIT* I added the original paintings I drew from.

WHOOPS! The Start of My Cafe Sketch Blog
Here is where I will be posting my sketches weekly from my Cafe Sketch drawing class. Right now I feel my observational work is incredibly rusty. I haven't had a real drawing class in a while and it shows. Hopefully that changes soon once I get myself into the swing of things.
